Small Reading Group*

This small reading group class is for learners in first and second grade who are able to read simple, on-level texts and ready to improve their reading skills. If your child is still learning to decode, please take a look at my Kindergarten & 1st Grade Small Reading Group instead!
In this class, we will read on-level decodable texts as a group, play phonics games, and learn new phonics skills together. This class meets live on Zoom twice a week for 30 minutes each session. Each learner will have the opportunity to read aloud during each class, but if they don't feel comfortable reading aloud, that's okay! We can also read together, whisper read, or do an echo read as a class.
My early reading program follows the research-based science of reading principles, including teaching oral language, phonological awareness and phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, reading/language comprehension, and writing.
We will use high-quality decodable reading passages and literacy activities in class.
